Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Tows shall terminate at a specific area in the City of Minneapolis Impound Lot located at 50 Van White Memorial Boulevard, or Minneapolis Equipment Division. B. The Contractor must have all equipment and personnel to furnish immediate service, day and night, for all vehicles ordered towed and impounded by the City on public or private property in Minneapolis that require heavy-duty tow trucks. Contractor must have a heavy-duty towing license issued by the City of Minneapolis. The Contractor shall have immediately available, 2-way radio, or similar communication device, equipped tows trucks and equipment necessary to safely move a completely demolished vehicle on dollies. Tow trucks shall be equipped with a wrecker unit equivalent to a “Holmes 600”. All vehicles must be registered in accordance with the laws of the State of Minnesota and have license plates for the current year properly displayed. All tows must be performed in a manner consistent with accepted towing standards. The heavy-duty tow trucks must be equipped with service brake airlines which are for the purpose of engaging the air brake systems of the vehicle under tow for any vehicle or trailer with gross vehicle weight over 10,000 lbs.
