Specifications include, but are not limited to: Rock Hill Schools intends to purchase Double Hammered Hardwood Mulch for landscaping. The District estimates an annual purchase of 560 cubic yards. The estimated quantities are based on previous needs and estimated usage for a twelve (12) month period. The estimated load shall be 80 cubic yards when an order is placed. • The double hammered hardwood mulch must be mixed species of Hardwood (mostly oak). • Mulch shall be aged a minimum of four months before grinding. • Mulch shall be stockpiled after grinding and shipped first in first out. • The typical screen analysis shall be: o 30% > ¾” very shredded material o 20% < ¾” > ½” smaller lengths, shredded material o 50% < ½” finer material, down to particle • Wood content shall be 8% - 15%. • Mulch shall not contain any blend ground log material, stumps, demolition debris and pallets.
