Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity (GOEO) and the Unified Economic Opportunity Commission (UEOC) are seeking to quantify gaps in Utah’s housing supply through an analysis of housing capacity and market projections. This study will include an assessment of the capacity for additional housing and development in the state; market projections to forecast when, where, and how much development will occur; and an alignment analysis comparing market demand to planned capacity and identifying constraints. Local government, MPOs, developers, and other stakeholders will then convene to evaluate study findings and address regulatory, infrastructure, builder capacity, and other barriers highlighted. Cities, towns, counties, and the state of Utah will benefit from this in-depth study to identify which locations and corresponding infrastructure investments and public policy adjustments are needed to accommodate the greatest amount of forecasted growth. The analysis will also align private sector investment in housing with public investments.
