Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (RIDEM) is reconstructing the roughly 1,240-foot existing steel sheet pile bulkhead at Roger Wheeler State Beach. The existing bulkhead is currently in a state of disrepair, developing holes in several areas, and rotting at grade in the parking lot. The new bulkhead will be comprised of a cast-in-place concrete wall constructed on the south side of the existing bulkhead. On the north side, a new boardwalk will be constructed featuring precast concrete piles, beams, and deck panels, as well as ancillary “bumpouts” along the southern side of the bulkhead that will include shade structures, patios, ADA accessible ramps and stairs, and new foot-washing stations. RIDEM is seeking qualified vendors to function as an Owner’s Representative providing construction services. The Owner’s Representative shall provide project oversight and coordination with the Architect/Engineer and Contractor from the Owner’s perspective to ensure the project is delivered on schedule and budget.
