Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. NATURAL TREE AND ORNAMENTAL PRUNING It is the responsibility of the contractor to know the proper timing for pruning each type of tree. Cut back, prune and shape, remove the dead wood. Reduce dead, live branches as needed to inch diameter cut(s) and remove all debris. Work to be performed late Fall through early January. All the Ornamentals around the Town hall, Library, Jarvis, and Onion Barn, which includes crabapples, dogwoods, magnolia, kousa dogwoods, cherries, and the beech tree. All debris must be removed from the site. Contractor shall chip wood and bring chipped material to the Weston Transfer Station located at 237 Godfrey Road East, Weston, CT. The Town will not accept any debris that has not been chipped. B. SPECIFIC TREE AND SHRUB FERTILIZATION Boost Liquid 20-0-6 Treatment (late April) Apply Boost Liquid 20-0-6 to help correct nutrient deficiencies and improve plant health following injury by disease to all Flowering tree and shrubs around Town Hall, Jarvis, Library and Onion Barn. Boost Liquid Treatment (mid-September) Apply Boost Liquid 20-0-6 to help correct nutrient deficiencies and improve plant health on hardwood trees around Town Hall and Library. Boost Liquid Treatment (early and late July) Apply to the beech tree located at the Firehouse (west) parking lot. C. DISEASE AND PEST CONTROL i. Dormant Oil Treatment (start of Fall and Spring) Apply horticultural oil treatment to Hemlock, Pine, Rhododendron, Azalea, Andromeda, Cedar, Crabapple, Magnolia, Lilac, Cherry, Holly & Boxwoods located at the Town Hall, Library, Jarvis, and Onion Barn lawn area and planting beds to help suppress scale insects.
