Specifications include, but are not limited to: Scope of Services The Chelsea Police Department seeks Tasers, accessories, software, and support services for availability and use by the department. The equipment shall be new and the manufacturer’s standard model in current production shall comply with all performance specifications, including all standard functions and accessories as represented by the bidder and/or the manufacturer. Any reference to a particular trademark, trade name, patent, design type, specification, producer or supplier is not intended to restrict this IFB to any manufacturer or proprietor or to constitute an endorsement of any good or service and the Department may consider clearly identified offers of equivalent goods and services in response to such reference. Bids including items other than specified must submit adequate manufacturer’s literature to allow comparison with specification. Literature is requested with all bids. If bidding an equal, the item must be approved by the State of Massachusetts public safety protocol regulations for Tasers. Timeline Expected Contract Duration: Three Years with an Optional Additional Two Years. Requirements Taser Specifications 1. Multiple shot (10 shots) energy weapon. 2. Individually targeted probes allow for accurate aiming and the possibility of creating spread over the entire useful range of the device by deploying one probe with each trigger pull. 3. Housing: High-impact polymer construction High efficiency lumen LED in flashlight Mode (210 lumen) with Warning Alert up to 1,000 lumen (strobing). 4. LASER sight Class 3R Green (default) or Class 2 Green available. 5. Any Probe Connect with Spread Optimizer will energize up to 4 connected probes for optimal connection to induce neuromuscular incapacitation. 6. Color Central Information Display (CID): Displays mission-critical data such as remaining battery energy, burst time, operating mode, and errors. 7. Weapon logs record information from a variety of sensors. 8. Onboard self-diagnostic and system status monitoring and reporting. 9. Ambidextrous user controls, including on/off, warning alert, trigger, functional test mode, magazine insertion/removal, and battery replacement. 10. The output cycle can be stopped at any time by shifting the selector switch to the down (SAFE) position. 11. Can be agency-configured, so the energy weapon’s output cycle stops at 5 seconds and the weapon will emit an audible alert for the last 2 seconds of the output cycle.
