Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Asheville Municipal Building–located at 100 Court Plaza, Asheville– is headquarters for the Asheville Police and Fire Departments, and home to Fire Station 1. A building structural and envelope assessment showed that the elevated concrete slab in the fire station apparatus bay is structurally deficient. This project will include the demolition and replacement of that elevated slab. Offices and rooms located below the slab will be partially demolished to facilitate the slab replacement. The reconstruction of these spaces is included in the scope of this project. A portion of the building will remain occupied during construction. One building occupant located within the construction area will need a new office built out prior to the start of the slab demolition. This build out is included in the scope of this project. The envelope assessment showed that the building needs a full roof replacement and various envelope improvements. That work is included as bid alternates in the project. The building has an aging boiler that is in need of replacement. A boiler replacement is included as a bid alternate in the project.
