Specifications include, but are not limited to: Project Description: Restoration and repairs to the Carter Mansion and Visitor Center buildings, including infrastructure, site features, and all required related work. Designer Scope: The scope of work can be divided into three areas: site/exterior improvements including work to Visitors Center, and improvements to the Mansion interior and exterior. Site improvements include construction of ADA walkways, pave and re-stripe the parking lot, tuck-point cemetery wall and mausoleum, provide exterior lighting, signage, and drainage improvements. The existing visitor center is 320 sqft. The existing Mansion is 2,470 sqft. Visitors Center improvements include ADA restrooms, and replacement of HVAC system, roof, and interpretive displays. The Carter Mansion renovations include restoration and repairs of the exterior envelope, replacement of HVAC system, and upgrades to interior paint, finishes, and interpretive displays. Best Value is requested as work on historic portions of the site must follow the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties. The Tennessee Historical Commission (THC) requests to look at the design drawings of this alteration, prior to issuing for construction, to insure that it is being done in accordance with the provisions of the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Treatment of Historic Properties.
