Please note: This is a Sole Source Notification. The Minnesota Department of Public Safety’s (DPS’) Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) intends to purchase one (1) TSE 5G Enabler Solution (part TSE-CBRSYS6808-P4E-2WWE6U) and two (2) Vehicular Geolocation System-G350s, each including Geolocation Software with Elevation (part CBRSAR-1G0E-GE-1). All equipment will be bought from Tactical Support Equipment, Inc. (dba TSE). BCA has prior investment in TSE equipment. As cellular technologies have evolved, newer networking protocols (particularly 5G) have surpassed the current equipment’s capabilities. In order to use newer protocols, the BCA will buy these new devices. They will expand the existing TSE equipment functionality and make it possible to continue using the units already in service. BCA determined that TSE’s 5G Enabler Solution and Vehicular Geolocation System-G350s are the only commercially reasonably available commodity products that meet the agency’s needs. This is deemed a single source purchase because the 5G Enabler and the Vehicular Geolocation System-G350s are solely distributed and supported by TSE. These proprietary systems are not available from other third parties.
