Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Provide structured activity time. 2. Provide numerous opportunities for students to increase their level of understanding of academicbased concepts and recreational activities in order to develop academic, personal and social skills, including: a. Homework help and mentoring b. Integrate arts, including arts and crafts, music and movement c. Sports and recreational activities d. Games and activities that are fun and challenging e. Offer engaging and interesting learning workshops f. Community Service activities 3. Safety is a primary requirement of the program 4. Provide 2 qualified adult staff at all times a. All Staff must be fingerprinted and background Checked b. Staff must be DCF mandated reporter trained c. Staff must be CPR/First Aid Trained 5. Open a minimum of 15 hours per week after school. Follow QVHD regulations 6. Maintain files for each child with demographic information, contacts, allergies, medications, etc. 7. Provide HYSB with quarterly and annual reports including, but not limited to programming, hours of operation, average daily attendance and demographic information as required by the CT Department of Children and Families (DCF) 8. Cost for Hamden residents should be a minimal fee or free (ex. $10 - $20 registration fee). For Out of Town Youth you decide what to charge.
