Specifications include, but are not limited to: Style 1 Hoop Bike Rack (Inverted U): Furnish and install style 1 inverted U shaped bike racks capable of parking up to two bikes and allowing users to lock their frame and wheels with a u‐style bike lock. The rack shall be one continuous bend, not two separate bends. The outside diameter of the rack shall be 24” and 35” high. Materials Vendor should provide costs for the following three materials options: For Colored Racks: The body of the rack will be 1.9” outside diameter, sched. 40 steel pipe. For Galvanized Racks: The body of the rack will be 1.9” outside diameter, sched. 40 steel pipe. For Stainless Steel Racks: 304 Grade Stainless Steel Mounting system The rack shall have two mounting feet per unit. Each foot shall be .25” thick steel plate, 2.5” wide by 6” long. Two slots in each plate shall be 7/16” in width and 1” in length and centered 1” in on the plates. There will be a 1.25” diameter hole in the center of the plate. The full circumference of the rack body shall be welded to the feet plates. The feet shall be 22.1” apart, center line measurements. For multiple racks, the feet will correspond to a rail system into which they will be secured. The rails will be a C3x4.1 channel profile. The width will be 3”, the height will be 1.41” and the web thickness will be .170”. The galvanized rail will weigh 4.39 lbs. per foot. The racks will be secured to the rail with four 3/8”x.75” carriage bolts. Two of the four carriage bolts must be secured with two tamper proof nuts. Each Rack will be separated by 35” centerline measurements along the length of the rail. The rails will be hot dipped galvanized after fabrication. Overall, the bike rack shall be 24” wide and 35” high. Finish For Colored Coated Racks: The racks shall be sandblasted to near white metal. Zinc rich epoxy primer shall be electro‐statically applied to a 2 mil coating thickness. A final coat of TGIC powder‐coat of a color or colors of the city’s choice shall be applied with a 3 or more mil thickness. For Galvanized Racks: The racks shall be hot dipped galvanized after fabrication. For Stainless Steel Racks: 304 grade High polished finish.
