Specifications include, but are not limited to: As part of the Town of Chapel Hill’s adopted Climate Action and Response Plan of 2021, the Town set several targets for electrifying its portfolio of facilities and fleet and maximizing the use of renewable energy: • Use 80% clean renewable energy by 2030 and 100% by 2050. • Achieve all-electric energy for new construction by 2030. • Achieve 100% net zero emissions in new municipal buildings and 50% in existing buildings by 2030. • Electrify all Town fleet passenger vehicles, light and medium duty trucks by 2040, and all heavy-duty vehicles by 2050. In service of meeting these targets, the Town is seeking design and engineering services to assess the main facilities in its portfolio of facilities and quantify the upgrades that will be required to meet these targets and their lifetime costs and benefits. Prior experience in condition assessments, energy management, and facilities capital planning is encouraged.
