Specifications include, but are not limited to: Davis County Government (the “County”) owns the Davis County Health Department located at 22 South State Street, Clearfield, Utah, and the Davis Conference Center located at 1651 North 700 West, Layton, Utah (referred to collectively hereafter as the “Facilities”). The County is seeking to enhance and upgrade the existing landscaping at the Facilities with minimalistic xeriscaping design that conserves water, is drought tolerant, and low maintenance, while also providing aesthetically pleasing outdoor space for staff and patrons (referred to collectively hereafter as the “Projects”). The County desires to contract with a professional licensed landscape contractor (the “Contractor”), experienced in xeriscape construction and low water use landscaping in Utah’s climate and environment. Preference will be given to Contractors with experience replacing existing grass turf landscape with water saving landscaping, irrigation, and plantings, by retro fitting with drought tolerant, low maintenance, and sustainable landscaping. The selected Contractor shall be expected to perform, but not exclusively limit their scope to, the following tasks: A. Pre-construction phase, including: 1. Review construction documents, drawings and specification documents of the Facilities; 2. Preliminary site visit to confirm current and existing conditions as needed; Coordinate the site visit with the County. 3. Submit questions or Requests For Information (“RFIs”) to the Landscape Architects and the County for clarification on the scope of work, as needed; 4. Provide a construction schedule for the Project to the County; 5. Coordinate construction needs with the County on expected/needed closure areas, staging areas, access, and equipment needs for each facility; and B. Construction phase, including: 1. Execution of the work described in the Construction Documents; 2. All scope of work installed and completed at or above industry standards; 3. Continued coordination of schedule and construction needs with the County; 4. Continued RFIs to the Landscape Architect and the County, as needed; 5. Provide potential change order costing and information, as needed, if scope of work varies from the Construction Documents; 6. Attend progress meeting, as needed; and 7. Progress payment requests submitted to the County, as needed, reflecting the percentage of work completed to that point. Each progress payment will be approved after an inspection has been performed by the Landscape Architect.
