Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Work of this Project is defined by the Contract Documents and includes but is not limited to the following: Phase 2 of the Point of Rocks MS4 Stream Restoration and Pond Decommissioning project will complete the stabilization of an unnamed tributary to the Potomac River between Ballenger Creek Pike and an existing in-line stormwater management pond within the Community of Point of Rocks in Frederick County, Maryland. Stabilization along the main stem of the tributary will be achieved using a combination of Natural Channel Design techniques along with riffle and cascade step pools. Stabilization along 1 smaller tributary/outfall to this unnamed tributary will be achieved using Step Pool Stormwater Conveyance techniques. Pond decommissioning will be completed with dam embankment and principal pipe spillway removal. The created open water will be crossed by installing a pedestrian bridge. This project is part of Frederick County’s Capital Improvement Project and will help meet the watershed restoration and impervious area reduction requirements of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permit. The decommissioned dam will remove County dam inspection, maintenance, and safety burdens. Contractor to provide a temporary office trailer for DPW inspection staff. Office trailer may be sea container style office; power must be provided. Power may be from temporary gas-powered generator, but must be a quite rated generator, contractor to supply fuel and maintenance for generator.
