Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Contractor shall determine if additional advanced cleaning is required before an advanced inspection is performed. B. Contractor must be a National Fire Protection (NFPA) Verified Independent Service Provider (ISP). C. Repairs: If repairs are required, Contractor shall contact CAL FIRE Shasta Trinity Unit (SHU) Forestry Logistics Officers at (530) 225-2410 for approval prior to the start of any repairs. D. Contractor shall complete all cleanings, inspections, and approved repairs and return structural firefighting protective ensembles to CAL FIRE Shasta Trinity Unit (SHU) within 30 days of receipt for issuance back to the end users. Any costs associated with return of garments to CAL FIRE will be the Contractor’s responsibility and should be factored into the bid price. 1) Contractor shall inform CAL FIRE Project Representative of unexpected delays and may be granted an additional seven (7) days for making repairs. E. Contractor shall provide CAL FIRE Project Representative a detailed report by email in a format that is able to be extracted for data collection and retention. This report shall include the following: 1) Date of cleaning 2) Detail of cleaning performed 3) Date of advanced inspection 4) Advanced inspection findings 5) Any repairs performed on the garments elements (if applicable) F. Contractor shall ensure repairs and/or alterations performed are keeping garment elements in accordance to the CAL FIRE’s Structural Fire Fighting Protective Ensemble Specification, where additions or alterations allowable are detailed in Appendix B. All repairs and/or alterations to PPE must be conducted in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and using materials and methods, including fabric, thread type, seam construction, hardware and hardware backing, in accordance with the applicable NFPA standard.
