Specifications include, but are not limited to: • Job verify all conditions, dimensions and quantities of asbestos containing materials prior to bidding the work. Pre-Bid Conference site visit highly recommended. • All work shall be in compliance with all applicable laws, codes and ordinances. • See the attached floor plan indicating the location and layers of asbestos containing vinyl floor tile and mastic to be abated. All existing base shall be removed in the abatement areas. • The contractor shall be responsible for the proper and lawful removal and disposal of asbestos containing vinyl floor tile and mastic. The contractor is responsible for verifying the quantities of asbestos containing materials. There are various floor coverings throughout the building including: 1. Two (2) layers of vinyl floor tile (non-asbestos containing vinyl floor tile and mastic on top of asbestos containing vinyl floor tile and mastic); and 2. Carpet glued on top of asbestos containing vinyl floor tile and mastic (the carpet glue does not contain asbestos). • All work shall be performed and quoted in accordance with SC DHEC Regulation 61-86.1 Standards of Performance for Asbestos Projects: Section XV- Non-Friable Projects. • All demolished asbestos containing vinyl floor tile and mastic shall be removed from the site by the contractor and disposed of properly and legally. Copies of trip tickets/waste manifest, to account for all asbestos waste, shall be submitted to SC DHEC and SCVRD upon completion of the project. • Patch and repair all areas disturbed by the work. Ensure that any lockdown applied to the concrete slab is compatible with the replacement material (LVT and carpet tiles) to be installed under a separate contract. • Constractor shall comply with the Davis-Bacon Act and all wage and hour payroll sheets shall be submitted weekly. This solicitation shall be submect to the requirements of the Davis Bacon Act. The Davis Bacon and Related Acts (DBRA) requires all contractors and subcontractors performig work on federally assisted contracts in excell of $2,000 to pay their laborers and mechanics not less than the prevailing wage rates and fringe benefits for corresponding classes of laborers and mechanics employed on similar projects in the area. The prevailing wage rates and fringe benefits are determined by the Secretary of Labor for inclusion in covered contracts. The United States Department of Labor has issued regulations establishing standards and procedures for the administration and enforcement of Davis Bacon labor standards provisions. • If the bid amount is $50,000 or greater, SE-355, Performance Bond and SE-357, Labor & Material Payment Bond shall be required. • All work and materials shall be warranted for a period of one (1) year from the Date of Final Completion.
