All existing flooring and base shall be removed and asbestos abated before flooring works has begun (under separate contract by abatement contractor). Clean and prepare the existing concrete surface to receive the new flooring in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations. As basis for design, use Milliken’s barrier coating for installation of Milliken modular carpet and Milliken resilient flooring on chemically abated concrete. If another flooring is accepted, use the manufacturer’s suggested method for preparing the concrete substrate before laying new flooring after abatement. Furnish and install (Basis of Design) Milliken Carpet Tile (C): Major Frequency: One, Distortion, Color: DTN211-27-217, Overtone and Milliken Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT): Natural-Loose Lay, Pike, Color: PIK176-121 Bark flooring, to include all labor, materials, transportation and equipment necessary. Floor covering adhesive shall be approved by flooring manufacturer prior to installation. All new flooring areas to receive 6” Black Rubber Base and Transitions as required. The furniture has been removed but there may be minor moving required. Equipment and furnishings are not to be dragged across any surfaces.
