Consultants that are selected for an award will provide training, support and oversight to organizations contracting with the Neighborhood Safety Department. The Neighborhood Safety Department will facilitate access to training that include the comprehensive public safety ecosystem model/approach. Support and capacity building services may include the following: • Collaborate with City of Minneapolis Neighborhood Safety Department (NSD) staff on resource identification and building collaborative relationships with agencies/individuals working on the issue of public safety. • Build rapport and positive relationships with participants. • Discuss goals, create goal plans, and support participants’ success toward goals related to helping them affectively execute contract deliverables and required documentation according to best practices. • Engage in regular meetings with NSD staff and contractors to review goals, data, and financials and provide regular reporting on the fiscal stability of each organization. • Facilitate training sessions to enhance knowledge of fiscal responsibility contracted organizations. • Facilitate learning sessions to increase the sustainability of contracted organizations. • Construct strong partnerships and understanding between contracted organizations and the City within the public safety ecosystem. • Review assigned contract files for compliance with city policies and all other regulations. • Previous experience building capacity with violence prevention organizations.
