Specifications include, but are not limited to: FIRESIDE CLEANING: 1. Open fireside access doors and openings for full access to fireside surfaces to be cleaned. 2. Clean flues, tube sheet, and breeching using (where possible) an air turbine reamer and industrial vacuum system. 3. Inspect and report the condition of fireside brickwork and insulation materials. 4. Washcoat all brick work with high temperature refractory coating. 5. Provide photos and written report to the site supervisor of any abnormalities, or questionable conditions found regarding the fireside of the boiler. 6. Leave fireside open and notify site supervisor to contact inspector for annual inspection. 7. Inspect and report condition of fireside gaskets. 8. Following inspection, seal and close fireside of boiler using new sealing materials where applicable. WATERSIDE CLEANING: 1. Drain, open and flush entire waterside of boiler. 2. Remove all low water controls, clean and inspect piping. 3. Clean and flush makeup and/or feedwater pump strainers and water column float chambers. 4. Drain expansion tank. 5. Remove all plugs in control piping, inspect, reinstall controls and replace gaskets. 6. Provide photos and written report to the site supervisor of any abnormalities, or questionable conditions found regarding the waterside of the boiler. 7. Leave waterside open and notify site supervisor to contact inspector for annual inspection. 8. Following inspection, close boiler, fill with water, temper to prevent damage. BURNER/BOILER CHECKOUT: 1. Remove, check and clean burner components including pilot assembly. 2. Clean burner air damper and air intake. 3. Check pilot electrode for cracks and adjust electrode setting. 4. Check packing material in air/oil receiving tank, if applicable; replace if necessary and fill with new oil. 5. Clean lube-oil screen and filter if applicable. 6. Check oil pump v-belt if applicable and replace if necessary. 7. Remove fuel oil strainer/filter and clean or replace. 8. Following inspection and reassembly of fireside and waterside, start and properly warm boiler. 9. Check all safety interlocks to assure proper operation and timing. 10.On both natural gas and fuel oil, check combustion with an electronic analyzer and adjust fuel/air ratios as necessary (Juvenile Center gas only). 11.Perform a slow drain test to assure proper low water cutoff and pump control operation. 12.Check entire boiler for leaks. 13.Inspect and provide written report to site supervisor condition of any questionable burner or safety control components or devices. 14.Return between November 15th and December 31st 2022 and 2023 to finally calibrate controls to meet ultimate load demand on both natural gas and fuel oil (Juvenile Center gas only). 15.Provide a written report outlining all findings, and any recommendations for improving operation, efficiency and safety.
