The University’s Building Code Department is the “authority having jurisdiction” to administer the State construction and food codes system wide in accordance with the rules, regulations and laws adopted by the State of Minnesota. We assure regulatory compliance with the Minnesota State Building Code (MSBC) and the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) rules related to environmental health, food, pools and lodging.BCD is the regulatory body that provides permits and inspections for construction and food licensing that occurs on campuses of the University of Minnesota. We provide all of the regulatory requirements like any other municipality. We use permitting inspections and licensing software to apply, review, approve, pay and issue permits and licenses. We are seeking bids for this software.
