Specifications include, but are not limited to: High pressure water sewer cleaning and vactoring equipment commonly used in the sewer industry shall be used on this project. At a minimum, High-Velocity spinning Jet head Equipment specifically designed for such work is required. General Cleaning requirements: 3.4.1 The equipment shall be capable of removing dirt, grease, rocks, sand, roots and other materials and obstructions from the sewer lines and manholes. 3.4.2 Cleaning and inspection shall follow the flow pattern in a sequential order from upstream to downstream, to avoid debris and sediments from entering a segment of sewer that has already been cleaned and inspected. 3.4.3 In large diameter pipe, the occurrence of debris too large to be removed by usual trenchless technology is increased, therefore; large pieces of concrete, boulders or other large foreign objects shall be cleaned using other special large diameter cleaning devices such as bucket cleaning equipment or shall be removed manually by trained technicians equipped with hand tools. 3.4.4 For root masses and other point specific blockages, a cutter or manual removal shall be used to detach the blockage from the wall of the pipe allowing the debris to again be flushed to the manhole and then removed. 3.4.5 If cleaning of an entire section cannot be successfully performed from manhole to manhole, the equipment shall be set up and cleaning again attempted from the other direction...
