Specifications include, but are not limited to: 2.1 BACK-UP CARE SERVICES The Contractor will offer Back-up Care Services for children (“Services”). Services shall be available for both unplanned/emergency or if routine services fall through, to be used only during the Eligible Employees work hours or during work-related travel. The Contractor shall be able to provide the requested Services In-Home or Out-of-Home (at a center/facility). 2.1.1 The City intends to purchase a minimum of 150 Back-Up Care days the first year. Additional days will be purchased at the discretion of the City for future years. Additional Back-up days require prior City approval. 2.1.2 Each Eligible Employee will be allowed up to five (5) Back-up Care days per calendar year (1 day is equivalent to 10 hours). The usage may consist of any combination of Back-up Care Services. Usage will also be subject to the number of days in the City’s bank. 2.1.3 There shall be no black-out days. 2.1.4 Unused Back-up Care days will not expire and will roll over each year. 2.1.5 For each day of Back-up Care Services used by an Eligible Employee, one (1) day will be deducted from the Eligible Employee’s aforementioned annual maximum Back-up Care Service Days. Contractor shall manage the use of care days per Eligible Employee as directed by the City; and Contractor shall manage the Back-up of care days. Services shall be provided through the Contractor’s in-care network at no cost to Eligible Employees (other than the co-pays and fees noted in Exhibit B-Fee Schedule). 2.2 In-Home Back-up Childcare In-Home Back-up Childcare includes services provided by a childcare provider in the Eligible Employee’s home. In-Home Back-up Childcare may include various responsibilities requested by the Eligible Employee, including feeding, diapering and clothing, help with homework, playtime (ie reading, arts and crafts, etc.) and preparing children for bedtime. In-Home Back-up Childcare cannot be used for ongoing childcare needs. Each Eligible Employee will be allowed up to five (5) Back-up Care days per calendar year. 2.3 Out-of-Home Back-up Childcare Types of Out-of-Home Back-up Childcare include: 2.3.1 Licensed Childcare Centers – typically larger group settings at a facility other than a home 2.3.2 Licensed Family Childcare Centers (“FCCs”)– typically smaller group care located in a care provider’s home. Out-of-Home Back-up Childcare includes the placement of a child or children, generally ages 6 weeks to 12 years, in a childcare setting other than the Eligible Employee’s home and includes the performance of ageappropriate childcare duties including feeding, diapering and clothing, playtime (ie reading, arts and crafts, etc.) and supervised indoor and outdoor physical activities.
