The selected law firm will be expected to provide comprehensive legal services including, but not limited to: • Representing Beaver, Garfield, Kane, Piute, and Wayne Counties on a wide range of public lands-related matters. This includes legal and policy efforts and other public lands administrative matters. • Prepare legal briefs, motions, and other court documents for public lands litigation. • Represent the counties in court proceedings and negotiate settlements when appropriate. • Assist in developing public lands policies and strategies that reflect the interests of the counties and their stakeholders. • Advocate for the counties' positions on public lands issues at state and federal levels, including legislative and regulatory bodies. • Monitor ongoing public lands projects and activities to ensure they align with county goals and legal requirements. • Provide conflict resolution and mediation services to address disputes between counties, stakeholders, and government agencies. • Provide legal advice on proposed resource management plans to ensure they align with county and state plans. • Analyze federal resource management plans, EISs, and other federal actions affecting public lands and identify key issues and potential impacts on the counties’ interests. • Assist in developing detailed and substantive comments on behalf of the counties.
