Specifications include, but are not limited to: Buncombe County is seeking candidates interested in providing engineering services for the design of approximately 1.7 miles of paved greenway, approximately 1.9 miles of unpaved trails, and an approximately 0.2-mile boardwalk over section of the French Broad River. This project will also involve the study and design of how to provide connectivity from Ferry Road to the East Frederick Law Olmsted Way. The designer will also be asked to study the possibility of connecting the pathways to the North Carolina Arboretum and Blue Ridge Parkway. There is a community outreach component to this project that will require public meetings led by the selected consultant team. Construction of this project will be phased starting with Phase I the greenway component, connectivity, and boardwalk. Phase II will include the unpaved trails connecting to the Ferry Road development. The county is requesting construction administration throughout the construction and closeout of the project.
