Specifications include, but are not limited to: The landscape contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, tools, and skills required to maintain the landscape in an attractive condition throughout the contract period. Maintenance of landscape shall include mowing, grass clipping, trimming, edging, mulching, weed control, fertilization, and pest control, pruning, and trimming of planting, debris removal and monitoring. The intent is to provide a professionally maintained appearance as determined by The University of Alabama Landscape and Grounds Strategic Plan. Any discrepancies shall be resolved in a manner determined by The University of Alabama Landscape Architects and University Representative. “A” Level Maintenance Plan 1. Mowing: “A” Level Maintenance site shall require weekly mowings through the growing period (approximately 34 times per year). Trash and debris, if present, shall be removed and disposed of prior to mowing. Lawns to be maintained at a height of 2.5 – 3.5 inches, with adjustments made for periods of high heat and little rainfall. Lawns to have a smooth appearance without scalping and missed uncut grass. Care shall be given in turns made by the mower not to damage grass. Turn areas damaged by mowers that are bare and thin shall be replaced at no additional cost to the University.
