Specifications include, but are not limited to: The rear-loading refuse bins with 2-piece lockable covers shall be constructed in accordance with the following: 1. Refuse bins shall be similar to existing State DAGS dumpsters. A refuse bin has been designated as a sample for vendor to inspect. Bidders shall contact Matthew Fitzsimmons at (808) 831-6733 to arrange for this inspection. 2. Front/Side/Back panels shall be of 12-gauge mild steel. 3. Bottom plate shall be 10-gauge galvanized sheet metal. Plate shall have 4-1” diameter holes equally spaced. 4. Channel and braces shall be 10-gauge mild steel. 5. Handle shall be a 3/4-inch diameter steel bar with 3/16” inch thick, 2” diameter steel disk. Drill hole through disk to insert disk through handle. Drill holes through tube to insert handle through tube. Handle shall be capable of supporting a fully loaded refuse bin without any evidence of fatigue. 6. Casters shall be Colson 6” swivel castes with grease nipple. Caster is model #4-6109-641-7 or equal. Fully grease casters before delivery. 7. Weld pieces together at both interior and exterior surfaces. While welds are hot, apply galvanized stick. Apply per manufacturer’s direction. 8. All surfaces and weld shall be completely free of welding spatters. 9. After removing all splatter, apply cold galvanized coating over all surfaces of the dumpster. Apply per manufacturer’s direction. 10. Painting: a. Primer: Wilbur & Williams #1598 Totrust Red Oxide primer or equal. b. Paint: Wilbur & Williams #1544 Totrust Semi-Gloss enamel or equal. c. Remove all spatter before painting. Paint with roller and/or brush; spraying is not allowed. Apply one uniform coat of primer and two uniform coats of paint.
