Specifications include, but are not limited to: Herbicide Treatment - 4.1.1.1 Herbicide Treatment must be completed in two (2) separate treatments, spaced per chemical treatment label recommendations. 4.1.1.2 Herbicide Treatment must follow instructions of product being applied. 4.1.1.3 Herbicide Treatment must be done in the evenings after 4:30PM or on weekends after 7:00AM. Treatment must not be done when events are being held on the Capitol Grounds. 4.1.1.4 Herbicide Treatment areas are to include lawn/turf areas, mulched tree rings and ornamental shrubbery beds. Flowerbeds are not included and must not be treated. Daycare (Building 16) is not included and must not be treated. See map of Capitol Complex (Exhibit B). 4.1.1.5 Herbicide must be labeled for use on lawns, turfgrass and mulch beds and must be a “selective” herbicide. 4.1.1.6 Herbicide application days shall be rain-free. The 24 hours following Herbicide Treatment shall be rain-free as per product label(s). 4.1.1.7 Herbicide Treatment application must be coordinated with the Capitol Grounds Manager, Carles Farley. (Carles.W.Farley@wv.gov). 4.1.1.8 Herbicide Treatment must be a liquid foliar, applied with a water carrier, herbicide labeled for application on established, cool season turfgrass for the post-emergent control of annual and perennial broadleaf weeds including, but not limited to Veronica, Clover, Dandelion, Plantain, Black Medic, Chickweed, and Wild Violet. 4.1.1.9 Herbicide must not injure turfgrass, flowers or ornamental shrubs or trees. 4.1.1.10 Herbicide coverage must be uniform and thorough for the control of targeted weeds. This is not a spot application treatment.
