Specifications include, but are not limited to: • The proposed typical section for the Moosup Valley Road Bridge will consist of two 11’- foot lanes, 4’ shoulders and varying width concrete sidewalks on the bridge and grassed berms off the bridge. • The bridge structure will consist of a cast-in-place concrete deck, waterproofing membrane and 3” bituminous overlay on ten straight rolled girders with a 76’ span (55’ clear opening). • The existing abutments and wing walls will be cut and capped 2’- 6” above Ordinary High Water. The existing channel width will remain unchanged. • A 6’ concrete cap will be placed between the existing abutment and the newly constructed abutment. • New Integral abutments constructed behind the existing abutments supported on steel H piles and U-type cantilevered wingwalls and end blocks. The abutments will be cast in place concrete. • Cast in place concrete approach slabs and new roadway approaches will be constructed at either abutment.
