Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Division of Forestry and Wildlife (DOFAW) is seeking bids for constructing ungulate-proof fences, as well as associated tasks such as clearing the fence corridor and fabricating step-through gates and a vehicle drive through gate. The objective is to prevent further Axis deer migration into and across the greater landscape of Mauna Kahalawai, allowing for more effective and attainable control efforts for landowners and land managers on both sides of the fence. See attached maps and schematics (Figure 1 and 2). The fenceline route runs across both state owned and privately owned lands. Approximately 27,500 LF of deer fence may be constructed in the following TMKs: - (2) 4-4:004:008 - (2) 4-3:010:017 - (2) 4-4:004:010 - (2) 4-3:001:084 - (2) 4-2:001:001 - (2) 4-4:007:006 - (2) 4-4:007:004 The State will contract on a per linear foot basis.
