Specifications include, but are not limited to: REGLAZING OF PORCELAIN SINKS; PREPARATION OF PREVIOUSLY REGLAZED SINKS; REFINISHING OF BATHROOM COUNTERTOPS; REFINISH OF KITCHEN COUNTER TOPS INCLUDING BREAKFAST BAR; REFINISHING OF KITCHEN COUNTERTOPS WITHOUT BREAKFAST BAR. This contract consists of countertop refinishing and re-glazing of porcelain bathtubs and sinks. The supplier must be able to complete all jobs outlined in this contract • The color or design pattern shall be pre-approved by the University, prior to starting the work. • The counter area must be prepared by masking the walls and floors off with masking paper and tape before beginning the work. • The counter must be then scuff sanded to aid in a mechanical bond to the surface. • Any repairs to the Formica are to be performed using Bondo and or glazing putty. • A 2- part, low VOC acrylic paint shall be applied via HVLP spray gun for a “base coat”. • The speck design is achieved by using multi-speck water base suspended paint particles mixed with a 2-part polyester clear coat. This product must be applied via the HVLP system with multiple passes of the gun. • An evacuation system shall be used during the entire spraying process to ventilate the area.
