Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City, through the Office of Resilience & Sustainability (ORS), the Hazard Mitigation office, and the New Orleans Health Department, seeks to engage a Consultant to develop an extreme heat mitigation and resilience strategy for the City of New Orleans. This plan’s recommendations must be consistent with the goals and objectives of: 1) The City’s 2022 Climate Action Plan, “Net Zero by 2050: A Priority List for Climate Action in New Orleans, including centering equity and achieving equitable results as highlighted in Taking Steps Together on Equity & Climate Change: A Report for and by New Orleanians. 2) The City’s 2022-2025 Community Health Improvement Plan, Goal 3.1.5: Reduce exposure to urban heat 3) The City’s Parks Master Plan (Big Green Easy) 4) The City’s 2020 Hazard Mitigation Plan, Action 2020.5.7: Conduct an Urban Heat Island Study that addresses extreme heat threats on a neighborhood-byneighborhood level. Identify areas most in need of interventions to prevent extreme heat threats and prioritize implementation in those places.
