Specifications include, but are not limited to: Providing daily courier service to all member library locations is a pivotal role. Most of the material transported by the courier consists of fulfilled holds and returned items. In Fiscal Year 2022-2023 the CCRLS courier service transported 788,751 items between member library locations, traveling roughly 62,000 miles to do so. Current operations are characterized by a significant amount of manual sorting by both member library and courier staff. CCRLS seeks to implement a centralized sorting workflow at our office location, facilitated by an automated materials handling solution consisting of a non-public induction point with 18 sorting nodes. We anticipate that doing so will greatly reduce the number of staff hours required at member libraries to process this material and will introduce other efficiencies. Based on the responses to this RFI, the college may choose to issue a competitive solicitation for the purchase of an automated materials handling system. Any firm that submits a response to this RFI will be notified directly if a solicitation is issued. Chemeketa seeks to obtain goods and services that represent “best value” to the college, in accordance with applicable federal and state regulations. Solicitations issued by the college are administered in accordance with the college procurement policies and procedures. Submission of a response to this RFI does not obligate the College to pay any expenses incurred by the respondent in preparation of its response.
