Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. All detention-grade surface-mounted housings, locks and hinges shall be provided by the Detention Contractor. This material shall be stored by the Detention Contractor in a secure bonded warehouse. The Detention Contractor shall identify this location with the Owner, and all materials shall remain in the warehouse until that phase of installment is ready. 1. All specified and non-specified material shall be provided by the Detention Contractor. All materials shall be stored in a secure bonded warehouse. B. The following shall be included in the Base Bid of the project. 1. Existing Detention Lock Removal a. The Owner currently utilizes Omron PLC technology with touch screen interfaces throughout the Public Safety Center to control detention-grade motorized and solenoid locks as well as detention-grade sliding doors. As a part of this project, the Detention Contractor shall remove the existing motorized Folger Adams 120 series cell locks from each cell on the 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th floors of the Wake County Public Safety Center. i. Since Public Safety Center is an active jail, the specified work shall be performed in phases. These phases shall be defined collectively between the Owner, the Wake County Sheriff’s Office and the Detention Contractor. Once defined, the Detention Contractor shall work in accordance with this schedule and shall not deviate from the schedule unless otherwise directed. b. The Detention Contractor shall be responsible for disconnecting all headend power for each lock within the pod in which work is being performed. Once power is disconnected, the Detention Contractor shall disconnect all wiring at the lock location and cap off each conductor with an approved wire termination device. i. The Detention Contractor shall coordinate all disconnection of power with the Owner and the Wake County Sheriff’s Office before the disconnection of power begins. ii. The Detention Contractor shall follow all locking out procedures set forth by the Owner. iii. With the exception of the cell locks within the area in which work is being performed, all systems shall remain 100 percent functional. c. The Detention Contractor shall remove each existing cell lock from its lock pocket. The Mogul key cylinder shall be removed from the lock and preserved for use with the new locks. i. All removed equipment shall be inventoried by the Detention Contractor and turned over to the Owner for disposal.
