The contractor will provide service and repair of asphalt and cement sidewalks and parking lots. Bid rates per square foot will include all labor, equipment and materials required to perform all required repairs. The scope of the work includes, but is not limited to, installation and repair of Portland cement concrete sidewalks, installation and repair of bituminous drives and patches (typically less than 500 sqft), and the raising of slabs by means of “mudjacking”. The Contractor shall be prepared to start work within the specified time and have adequate labor, materials and equipment available to dedicate to projects to insure completion within the specified time frame. The contractor will provide service for the repair or replacement of sidewalks, pathways, playgrounds and parking lots. Bid will be based on square foot of the area repaired or replaced. Precaution for the protection of persons and property must be exercised at all times. The work area(s) shall be left clean and as necessary, barriers are to be in place to keep the public safe from hazards. The scope of work for asphalt repair will entail the filling of pot holes, minor cracks and saw cutting for larger cracks. When saw cutting is necessary, the repair will be tamped and leveled to existing surfaces. A proper base is to be maintained for all repairs and replacements. The scope of work for Cement repair will entail the repair and replacement of stairs and sidewalks, and also raising slabs to grade, through the method of mud jacking. For driveway and roadway areas, #8 gauge wire mesh is required. Dowling will be used for sidewalk replacements. Dowel holes can be drilled and the dowel inserted and fastened to an existing slab, using specs provided by the Epoxy manufacture as to proper depth into the old existing slab: 4-, 6-, 8- inch depth. Secure the dowel using a quick set hydraulic cement or epoxy product. Rough grading should occur after forms are removed to avoid tripping hazards. Concrete must be supplied by a State Certified Vendor. A proper base is to be maintained for all repairs and replacements.
