Specifications include, but are not limited to: 4.3.1 A thorough pressure washing of the entire surface to be cleaned to include, but not be limited to, buildings, roofs, signs, sidewalks, fences, and equipment. Surface types may include, but not be limited to, concrete, stone, brick, wood, metal, glass, and aluminum. Washing shall clean and remove all dirt/dust, mildew, mold, fungus, and accumulated debris. Vendor shall wash and clean all exterior windows and doors after all work has been completed. 4.3.2 Vendors shall have technical knowledge to support correct application of pressure and any chemicals used in the pressure washing and window cleaning processes. Brush cleaning and low-pressure cleaning shall be for roofs and other areas when necessary. Extra precautions shall be taken when cleaning historic buildings or materials. Only low-pressure cleaning and non-abrasive methods shall be used on historic buildings or structures. All chemicals used on historic structures must be pre-approved prior to application. 4.3.3 City water sources may be used when available. Unless otherwise stated, the vendor is responsible for providing hoses and any equipment to access water on site. 4.3.4 Vendor shall use a commercial grade eco-friendly detergent (biodegradable, non-toxic, noncaustic and water based) cleaning solution and follow the manufacturer’s instructions for application. Care should be taken to not expose landscaping to bleach or harsh chemicals. Material and safety data sheets (MSDS) for all chemicals being used shall be retained by the vendor and furnished to the City upon request. All chemicals shall be stored using appropriate containers and methods. No chemicals or chemical containers shall be disposed of on City property. 4.3.5 Vendor shall be responsible for ensuring a safe workplace. Care shall be taken to ensure that damage does not occur to the building interior or exterior or surrounding equipment, vehicles, or pedestrians. 4.3.6 Vendor shall provide the City with an estimated start and completion date prior to commencement of all pressure washing jobs. Unless otherwise stated, all non-emergency jobs shall commence no more than one (1) week from notice to proceed to the vendor. 4.3.7 Vendors shall be responsive to calls after-hours and respond to emergency requests within two (2) hours of contact from the City.
