Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. The City is accepting informal bids for providing Fire Truck Aerial Ladder Testing (On-Site) on City owned aerial ladders. B. The testing has two parts: Aerial Testing – Testing to be performed annually on all trucks or as requested, at the location requested by the City. Non-Destructive Testing - Testing will be required on all trucks the first year of the contract. After first year, testing will be required every 5 years, major incident or as requested. Non-Destructive testing is needed to identify potential fatigue, which could result in equipment failure. C. PERFORMANCE TESTING OF AERIAL DEVICES AS DESCRIBED IN NATIONAL FIRE PROTECTION ASSOCIATION’S STANDARD #1911 “STANDARD FOR THE INSPECTION, MAINTENANCE TESTING, AND RETIREMENT OF IN-SERVICE AUTOMOTIVE FIRE APPARATUS 2017 EDITION”. AERIAL TESTING SHALL COMPLY WITH CHAPTER 19 “PERFORMANCE TESTING OF AERIAL DEVICES”. TESTING SHALL INCLUDE ALL REQUIREMENTS OF CHAPTER 19 INCLUDING ALL APPLICABLE NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTS. D. It is the City’s intent to have the testing performed within a specific timeframe to minimize cost incurred by City, however, more than one day may be required to inspect all equipment. Vendor shall be responsible for meeting or exceeding the following specifications when performing Fire Truck Ladder Inspection (On-Site). Any deviation from specifications shall be noted under the Conformance Page. F. Inspection personnel shall meet all requirements of NFPA 1911-19.2 and submit copies of certification with bid.
