Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Washington County Public Works Department is seeking architectural and engineering services to evaluate the existing Park Grove Library site and facility, provide a site feasibility study, programming, design and construction services for a new or remodeled library in Cottage Grove, MN. A feasibility study of the existing site and building will help provide guidance during the early design phases to help determine the appropriate size and layout of the building and how the existing building and site can be best utilized. The existing facility is about 20,000 square feet on a 2.5 Acre building site. At the Project start, the architect will seek community and staff feedback to develop an understanding of project goals and objectives. The extent of the new functions will be determined through programming exercises with the Library and Community. It is anticipated that new and innovative approaches to the delivery of county services in building and site setting will be explored. Other important design considerations include providing a welcoming and inclusive space for all customers and staff that meets security needs, ensuring a safe and enjoyable library experience. In addition, comprehensive, flexible design of IT systems will be a significant project component to allow customers to access, use and explore technology in different formats.
