Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. The work shall include all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, supervision, etc. necessary to provide inspection and service of the Automatic Fire Sprinkler Systems for the buildings listed in these specifications. 2. In all buildings that have automatic fire sprinkler systems, the contractor will supply labor to maintain the system to preform within proper operating conditions. 3. All technicians furnished under this contract shall have at least five (5) years of experience in Automatic Fire Sprinkler Systems, and must be qualified to diagnose, test and repair all systems covered under this contract. The Contractor must possess a valid license issued by the State Fire Marshall to perform inspections on automatic fire sprinkler systems. Bidder is to attach a photocopy of said license to his/her bid proposal. Failure to do so may be cause for rejection of Bid. 4. Contractor shall furnish all necessary tools, test equipment, etc. in order to accomplish this work. All necessary transportation of men and materials to and from the work sites shall be the Contractor's responsibility. 5. Contractor must submit proposed schedule for testing of systems to be approved by Compliance Manager of Facility Maintenance. Before starting the inspection in each building, the contractor shall notify Compliance Manager and University Police. In buildings that are used as living quarters the Building Manager or Housing Director must be notified. They will notify the occupants of these buildings. The contractor will notify University Police when testing is completed at each building. 6. During the inspection process the minimum requirements are: a. The Contractor shall inspect the sprinkler systems and conduct performance test in accordance with the applicable sections of NFPA 25. Inspectors must be employed by a certified fire protection sprinkler contractor as such term is defined in Louisiana R.S. 40:1625(2). b. Contractor shall perform inspection of each building automatic fire sprinkler system once per year. This inspection shall include a physical inspection and operational test of all components of the system, including the control valves, water supplies, tanks, pumps, fire department connections, wet systems, dry systems, special system er s, flow switches, tampswitches, alarms and sprinklers shall be physically inspected each year to confirm the installation integrity of the component. c. Manufacturer’s suggested testing procedures, where more stringent than those listed above, shall be adhered to. d. Contractor shall perform a complete one hundred percent (100%) operational test of all equipment in the system of the initial year and then in each following years of contract.
