Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Tucson is requesting competitive bids from Arizona Licensed Contractors to construct a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Plant (plant) for the Sun Tran Northwest Bus Storage and Maintenance Facility (campus) – an alternative fuel - dry fuel - deliver system. Scope of Construction The plant is to reside within the footprint of the existing campus. The work consists of construction of a new CNG control building (building) and the installation of CNG equipment – compressor packages, product delivery piping, fuel dispensers, and a vehicle dry fuel recovery station. In preparation for the new plant, the project will require the removal of two existing 18,000-gallon above ground diesel fuel tanks – disconnecting the pump power source and the tank monitoring systems, related piping, pipe stands, and the demolition of the existing concrete equipment pads and surrounding bollards. The concrete equipment pads, building foundation, site wall foundations, and pipe rack foundations are to be poured in place. The finish floor elevation of the building is proposed to be roughly 1 foot below the current elevation of CNG equipment yard. A short CMU retaining wall is required between the building pad and equipment yard to transition to this elevation change. Following the structural concrete installation the PCCP is to be poured in place. The building requires comfort control with the installation of mini split air-conditioning units for cooling semi-occupied spaces. The machine room is outfitted with an in the wall exhaust fan for introducing outside air when interior temperature conditions approaches a preset high level.
