Specifications include, but are not limited to: Conduct needs assessment on each kinship caregiver to identify and prioritize needs. Provide information and referrals regarding services and supports for kinship caregivers. Provide follow up services, including advocacy and troubleshooting barriers to ensure kinship caregivers access the needed support and resources. Develop knowledge of resources, benefits, and support services available to kinship caregivers Develop knowledge of regulations/laws/procedures guiding access to school, legal, and healthcare services for children placed with relatives. Develop relationships with representatives from various agencies to build capacity for advocacy and problem-solving. Identify, prioritize, and assist caregivers in accessing emergency financial assistance if/when available. Facilitate bimonthly support groups for kinship caregivers. BIDDER/OFFEROR QUALIFICATIONS Experience working with kinship caregivers, including an understanding of the unique issues they face (i.e. caregiver burnout, conflict with biological parents, etc.) Knowledge about available government and community-based resources Ability to navigate court systems/school systems/healthcare systems as needed. Ability to be resourceful and apply creative problem-solving when faced with systems barriers. Understanding of the impact of trauma on children and families Understanding of child welfare safety/risk issues
