MTECH and DFCM are seeking assistance with the design and construction administration of the Practical Nursing spaces in MTECH’s Provo Campus building. Mountainland Technical College has asked for assistance with an interior remodel and upgrades of select sections of Mountainland Technical Colleges’ Provo Campus (formerly the State of Utah Fourth District Judicial Center). This remodel will be for their Practical Nursing and other healthcare education programs and take place on the 3rd floor. With potential work on the 4th floor. The design for this project will include, but not be limited to: evaluating previously completed master plan for the 3rd and 4th floors to evaluate if changes to the master plan are need due to program changes. Evaluate existing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and data systems to see what can be reused and what needs to be replaced. The design needs to include a plan for all old / unused items in the remodel area(s) to be removed. The design will include, but not be limited to, classrooms, teaching labs, study / common areas, office space, restrooms, conference rooms, and phone booths. Unique Project Requirements: • The building is and will be occupied by staff and students during the design and construction of this phase. Due to this, design team members must check in and out with student services and receive a visitor’s badge. • The 3rd and 4th floors are controlled access. Design team members will have to coordinate their visits with MTECH for access. • Finishes MUST match the look and feel the college has established in areas of the building that have already been completed. • All new system controls etc. MUST integrate with MTECH’s current systems. • The design team will need to work with MTECH’s IT group for camera and security needs within the design.
