Specifications include, but are not limited to: The State of Rhode Island, Department of Public Safety is seeking quotations from qualified vendors to supply the Rhode Island State Police with ballistic shields. Six (6) NU Level III+ Ballistic Shields with the following specifications and options: A. LED lighting systems to be integrated into each shield. B. Shield support hooks, neck straps, shoulder slings, and/ or similar weight supporting device. C. Shield protective/transport bags. D. Ambidextrous handle system. E. Ambidextrous weapon mount/ cutout. F. Identification decals/ placards, indicating "State Police." G. Each shield shall have a viewport. H. The ballistic area of coverage shall be a minimum of 20 inches wide and a maximum of 36 inches tall. I. The weight of each shield shall not exceed 28 pounds. J. The shields shall be tested and verified to meet and exceed ballistic resistance standards specified in NIJ Standard 0108.01 Level III and have additional special threat level III+. K. Multi-hit capability with special threats testing. L. Color: Black
