Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. The liquid Sodium Silicate shall be delivered with prepaid freight to the Saint Paul Regional Water Services located at 1900 Rice St. North, Saint Paul, MN 55113. 2. The liquid Sodium Silicate shall be delivered in tank trucks utilizing a 30 psi delivery pressure with a capacity of approximately 3,800 gallons. Each sodium silicate tank holds about 1,900 gallons and a total of 3,800 gallons for delivery into two tanks. Maximum monthly demand is anticipated at 4,600 gallons. Monthly minimum and average demand are anticipated at 275 gallons and 2,000 gallons. Orders for approximately 31,800 gallons per year will be placed throughout the length of the contract. 3. The bidder must have the ability to supply chemicals on an emergency basis in the event of a shortage created by an unforeseen mechanical malfunction, natural disaster etc. This includes weekends and all major holidays. 4. Under normal conditions, response time after notification shall be within 48 hours during the week. Unloading shall occur between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. 5. A 2” quick connect coupling is provided on fill pipe. A 6” vent is installed on storage tanks. A minimum temperature of 60-650F must be maintained which will require heating and insulated hoses for winter deliveries. Some coordination with Saint Paul Regional Water Services’ staff on valve positioning may be required. 6. All delivery dates and times shall be scheduled in advance at Saint Paul Regional Water Services 651-266-1660. 7. Delivery drivers will be required to display their vendor/transport identification, including photo identification. 8. Liquid chemical tankers must be sealed; load will be rejected if seal is broken. 9. If delivery is delayed due to road problems, emergency, etc., Vendor must notify the 24- hour plant phone (651-266-1660) as soon as possible.
