Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Commission is seeking an Examiner at an hourly rate to take assignments as needed in the investigative process before either panel. The contract resulting from this RFP will be with a specific attorney, who may utilize assistance from within the attorney’s firm at a reduced fee to the Commission, including the use of associates, administrative professionals, and paralegals. The Examiner will work independently under the general supervision of the panel and will report results of judicial investigations to the panel. If formal proceedings are instituted against a judge, the Examiner will present the matter to the Commission at the formal hearing before the hearing panel and present oral arguments to the Supreme Court when appropriate. The time commitment varies from year to year, depending upon the activity before the Commission. See Kansas Supreme Court Rule 606 (Examiner for the Commission).
