Specifications include, but are not limited to: This project is for the Design, Permitting and Construction of the I-4 Truck Parking Facility and associated pedestrian and roadway improvements along I-4 and County Line Road in Hillsborough County. The facility will be constructed on a FDOT-owned 40-acre site. The I-4 Truck Parking Facility will provide 120 truck parking spaces with the ability to expand to 250 spaces in the future. The new facility will be incorporated into Florida’s Truck Parking Availability System (TPAS) to provide drivers with real-time available parking information via mobile application and dynamic roadside signs. The project includes other infrastructure improvements that work in tandem to provide ease of access to the I-4 Truck Parking Facility. These include improvements to the I-4 eastbound and westbound ramps as well as County Line Road to provide easier access for trucks. The I-4 Truck Parking Facility also includes features and amenities to provide a high quality of service to commercial vehicle operators including sidewalk/bike paths to local restaurants and hotels. The parking Facility will also have restrooms, picnic shelters, and six electric (shore power) hook-ups to provide stand-by power for refrigerated trucks and auxiliary power for in-cab comforts including HVAC, entertainment systems, etc.
