Specifications include, but are not limited to: • 3/4-in or 1-in-dia type “K” copper tubing. • Reconnecting of new service, including fittings, connectors, and adaptors. • Removal and disposal of the existing service, including fittings, connectors, and adapters. • Service clamps must be all bronze, double strap, corporation tap, saddles for asbestos concrete, cast iron, and ductile iron pipe with corporation cock thread. All bronze double straps shall have a minimum strap diameter of 5/8" flattened silicone bronze with rolled threads. • Service clamps shall be marked with the size range on the saddle. • Service Clamps/Saddles shall be Ford 202B Double Strap Brass Saddles or approved equal. • Corporation valves shall be copper compression fittings Mueller H15008 or approved equal. • Curb stops shall be one-piece, closed bottom body, copper compression on both sides, Mueller H15209, or approved equal. • Unions shall be 3-part, compression type Mueller H15403 or approved equal. • The curb box shall be Bingham & Taylor 93-D Series arch pattern base, Buffalo type, with screw adjustment or approved equal. • Roadway Box shall have a 4-1/2” lid. • Repair lids shall be Bingham & Taylor 10374, Bingham & Taylor 4901-NSR, or approved equal. • Cutting and removing existing service from meter and connecting new service to meter, including fittings, connectors, and adaptors. • Removal and disposal of the existing piping. • Excavation, backfilling, and compaction. • The contractor can utilize trenchless technology rather than traditional excavation if the method applies to the location. • Dewatering. • Coring hole through the foundation. • Patching of foundation. • Restoration of private interior features affected by the new service connection to the meter, including, but not limited to, sheetrock, trim, and other miscellaneous interior features. • Testing. • Milling, saw-cutting, removal, and disposal of existing pavement. • Excavation and disposal of all earth material. • Storage, rehandling, and disposal of excavated materials. • Dewatering, pumping, and removal of water, sewage, and other liquids from the trench. • Filling and backfilling with Dense Graded Aggregate(DGA). • Bank-run sand bedding and backfill material to be used around pipe/tubing. • Compaction. • Rolling and compacting pavement, samples and testing of pavement, temporary pavement striping, and correcting settlement in trench areas to maintain a smooth, rideable surface until final paving. • Hot-mix asphalt base course pavement. • Repairs to property or restoration of private hardscape and landscape features, including, but not limited to, stone, rock, block, and railroad tie retaining walls, concrete, stone, block, or railroad tie curbs, paver, brick, stone, concrete, or slate walkways, fences, and other miscellaneous landscape features.
