Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Brooklyn Board of Education (the “Board”) is requesting sealed qualifications and sealed proposals from qualified design professional firms to provide school building HVAC system inspection and evaluation services, and to provide project planning, design, engineering, and other professional services (collectively the “Base Services”) to the Brooklyn Public School district (the “District”), as well as construction oversight and administration services, in relation to projects for HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air condition) system upgrades, replacements, and other indoor air quality improvements at each of Brooklyn Elementary School and Brooklyn Middle School (each a “Project” and collectively the “Projects”). The selected firm will be the Engineer-of-Record or Architect-of-Record for each Project. The Base Services, generally, will include, for each Project: school building HVAC system inspection, evaluation and reporting in accordance with Connecticut General Statutes § 10- 220(d), as amended; development of a conceptual design and preparation of a feasibility assessment report; preparation of schematic design documents, outline specifications, and a Project Cost Estimate for use by the Board in applying to the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services (“CT DAS”) for a school building construction grant through the HVAC Indoor Air Quality Grant Program for Public Schools (the “HVAC IAQ Program”); preparation of detailed design, plans, specifications, and other necessary construction documents for competitive bidding for each Project; and bid phase administration and support.
