Specifications include, but are not limited to: A) Provide all labor, tools, rubber, gloves bags, fertilizer, herbicide, mulch, fungicide, and transportation to and from the work areas. B) Receive approval from designated NBC representative for all fertilizer, herbicide, mulch, fungicide, and pesticides that will be used. Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) must be submitted to NBC representative prior to all chemical usage being used on NBC premises. C) Comply with all local, state, and federal safety standards. D) Enforce the use of and provide personal, safety protective clothing, footwear, and eyewear, including all other safety materials needed to perform the job in a safe and orderly manner. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: A) FERTILIZATION i. Shall be performed four (4) times per year. A representative of the NBC can designate if it should be fertilized more if needed. ii. The vendor shall provide the fertilizer and use fertilizer at designated sections and at an application rate that is mutually agreed upon by NBC and the vendor that shall not do any harm to any vegetation. iii. Fertilizers applied shall be of the recommended analysis for the season and irrigated vegetation involved. B) LITTER PICK UP Litter shall be picked up from NBC grounds prior to vendor employees performing services. "Litter" is defined as trash, garbage, refuse of the specified character, which is discarded onto the NBC grounds, and described but not limited to scrap metals, paper, wood, plastic, and/or glass products. C) LEAVES Leaves shall be removed and disposed of from the building's sidewalks, parking lots and other areas as requested once a month. D) HEDGES, TREES, SHRUBS AND BEDS i. Flower Bed Weeding: Shall be performed a minimum of once per month to maintain a neat appearance. a) All the beds shall be ninety-five (95) percent weed free after each weeding. ii. Trimming Hedges and Trees: Shall be trimmed two (2) times a year to maintain a neat appearance. iii. Pruning: Shrubs and trees shall be pruned two (2) times a year to maintain a neat appearance. a) All diseased cuttings and clippings shall be removed from the site and disposed of in accordance with applicable state and local statues. iv.
