1. Locate and Inspect a. This item includes all work necessary to accurately locate the spot to be repaired, and to ensure the effectiveness and quality of the repair b. Deliverables include: i. Video before the repair showing the location of the failed section to be replaced ii. Video after the repair showing the location repaired. iii. The City inspector shall be given advanced notice of the time of video recording for on-site verification. iv. Recordings of all videos shall be delivered to the City of Hays in digital video media format on a thumb drive. c. Measurement and payment will be made per each point repair being made at the unit bid price. 2. Internal Point Repair - Bid items 2 through 5 are for trenchless internal point repairs using an approved system specifically intended to repair holes, broken pipes, offset joints, and groundwater infiltration. The quantities listed under these bid items are for locations where open trench repair is not feasible or desirable. There are four repair lengths identified (2’, 4’, 6’ & 8’). All pipe sizes are 8” clay pipe. Four locations are listed as either trenchless or open cut. The contractor and City staff shall discuss the merits of one method over the other prior to making determination on which method to use. Bidders are required to submit their proposed internal point repair system for pre-approval by 5:00 pm on May 31st, 2024. 3. Reinstate Service Connections a. This item includes all work necessary to reestablish service in areas where an Internal Point Repair may cover an active service tap. b.
