The structure was the site of a single - family dwelling of wood frame construction on piers. The exterior had transite siding over a wood frame structure. The roof was fibrous glass seal tab shingles on a wood roof deck. The building was in poor condition at the time ot the inspection with portions having collapsed. Interior finishes included twelve – inch ceiling tile and drywall walls with a slight texture on the surface. The floors were wood throughout with sheet vinyl in the bathroom and kitchen/dining area. The structure was filled with abandoned personal items and general debris. Representative samples of the siding, ceiling tiles, sheet vinyl floor covering and drywall wall system were collected and forwarded to EMSL Analytical Labs under chain – of – custody procedures for analysis by polarized light microscopy. Results, attached, confirmed the presence of asbestos above the regulatory limit of greater than one percent in the drywall system and the exterior siding.
